Hippeastrum reticulatum v. striatifolium is a lovely little species from Brazil. The flower stem is only about 12" tall, and the dainty flowers are pink netted with a deeper color. The leaves are lovely too, with a bright white stripe down the center of each leaf. I have H. reticulatum also, but it has not bloomed for me yet, and tends to stay dormant in the winter, while H. reticulatum v. striatifolium stays in growth year round on my heated benches. I grow them in small pots, about five inches deep, in Mix #1 with a little added pumice. I had tried them in larger pots, but they seem to grow better in a small pot. The root system is not extensive, so the larger pot may have encouraged disease.
